The Downside of “Convenient”

I waited in dire anticipation
with excitement I was a twitch
Finally the new store opened
The frenzy was at a fever pitch

It’s convenient, yes, indeed
It’s closer than the other one
The new store doesn’t have as many things
which tends to cut down on the fun

I meant the new store to be a stopgap
until I return to civilization,
which I will when my finances improve;
I’m really big on aggrandization

When goods and services are nearby,
allowances you sometimes make
Products may be high-priced or absent
which leaves you unslaked

Everything’s a bore to me
I want what I want, I need what I need
This is a temporary situation
I will return to my natural home — indeed.
