47 Stallions, All Named Stan

47 stallions, all named Stan
Mostly in shades of brown or tan
Some with blazes, some with socks
Some with incredible mental blocks
some with worms, some without
Some with a fashionable disease called gout
Some with training, most without
Many afflicted with hoof-and-mouth
Some wearing long manes, some wearing short
Most, though, are the run-of-the-mill sort
Some wearing shoes, some unshod
Some of them dressed like Ahmad Rashad

(notes: Gout was called a “fashionable disease” in a kiddie book, the autobio of Paul Revere’s horse. Hoof-and-mouth is known as foot-and-mouth now. Also, I couldn’t think of anything else to rhyme with “shod.”)
