1962 Diary of a Minnesota Housewife –Pt. 8

Wed. Jan.31. Cold yet, and snowing lightly, most of morning. Billy went to Brian’s party at noon, and it was quiet when Baby napped in the afternoon. Billy came home at 3:15, tired. Only 3 kids came [to the party] as the other 3 were sick. They had a good time. I ironed & washed & vacuumed, and washed the utility room, bath & closet floors. Baby was growly today. Thurs. Feb.1. Zero today at 6:45. Art is still at Franklin Mfg. and must leave home by 7:30 and quit 4:30. Called Jeanette yest. & talked half an hr. and still didn’t thank her for David’s gift. Kids to school and it’s quiet. Baby is feeling good today. Fri. Feb.2. Warming up again. Sat. Feb.3. Girls to choir and later to music lessons. After lunch, Margie went to Westmarks for G.S. activities. Over 40 degrees and everything is dripping. Boys shoveled some snow off the rink and girls skated awhile. Art worked today & got home around 6:30.
