1962 Diary of a Minnesota Housewife — Pt. 2

Wed. Jan.17. All the kids went to school. As it was too cold, Pat had no Brownie meeting and Marge no Good News club. Sat. Jan.20. It’s below zero. Girls went to choir practice. Marge had a music lesson. Art took her down & back. We had the car washed and went to Dennisens’ open house. They had a buffet, a very complete luncheon. Did a lot of looking and talking. We had locked the car and it froze shut. Art opened it with a coat hanger, as one window was open a bit. Still below zero. We went to Stillman’s and Treasure’s Island. Bought leather mittens and a red parka jacket for David. It snowed up a little storm.
